For Spitz (Attnang-Puchheim), we expanded the existing high-bay warehouse and replaced the 30-year-old warehouse management software. A particular challenge was that all this took place during ongoing operations. The 4-aisle warehouse expansion was completed within 6 months, with testing and software conversion taking place over several weekends. The basis for the successful project was the consistently close and constructive cooperation between both project teams.

Task: Replacement of an existing warehouse management system and expansion of warehouse capacity during ongoing operations

Solution: HRL (silo, 3-4 levels deep) + EBB to connect goods receipt, production, and shipping + gradual expansion of storage capacity by extending storage aisles + gradual connection of production lines, including automated truck loading + central WCS

KPIs: 14,000 storage locations, 30 m high, · ≈120 pallets/hour, software retrofit
