System Logistics GmbH: Ralf John takes over as Managing Director

Since 1 November 2026, Ralf John has been Managing Director of System Logistics GmbH in Wackersdorf, Germany, a Krones AG company. As a founding member, he brings almost 30 years of experience in intralogistics and automation. Bernhard Reitberger, who has led the company until now, moves into the management of the international System Logistics Group as Chief Technology Officer. The step has been planned for a long time and carefully prepared. Customers, suppliers and partners can continue to rely on continuity, dependability and their trusted contacts.

Grown as part of an international group

The change comes at a time when System Logistics is on the move. What began in 2002 as the intralogistics division of Krones is today an international group with around 1,000 employees and more than 500 systems installed worldwide. Wackersdorf, home of today’s System Logistics GmbH since 2014, is one of the Group’s three technology centres and employs around 125 specialists in automated intralogistics.

Ralf John: promoted from within

Ralf John knows the company from the inside. Together with Bernhard Reitberger, he has helped build today’s System Logistics GmbH from the very beginning and, as Head of Technical Operations, played a key role in shaping its technological and operational development. He understands the technology, knows how projects work in practice and has held international responsibility.

“I am very much looking forward to this role and to the responsibility of shaping the further development of System Logistics GmbH together with our team,” says Ralf John. “Our customers invest in systems that have to run for decades. They can rely on us to think ahead and keep our word. And we still have a lot planned.”

Bernhard Reitberger: a new role within the Group

As CTO, Bernhard Reitberger will be responsible for the further development of the Group’s technology and product platforms and will promote international cooperation within System Logistics. He brings to the Group’s management an in-depth knowledge of the German-speaking markets and their customers.

“System Logistics GmbH is in a strong position, and with Ralf it is in the best of hands,” says Bernhard Reitberger. “We built this company together and will stay closely connected. In my new role, I will make sure that our customers benefit even more directly from everything the Group has to offer.”

Connected. Moving forward together.

With the new distribution of responsibilities, System Logistics strengthens both the local responsibility of the GmbH and international cooperation within the Group. System Logistics GmbH remains firmly on course: close to its customers, technologically strong and clearly focused on further growth. A current example is the new high-bay warehouse that System Logistics is building for Krones in Nittenau as general contractor.
