High-Bay Warehouse for Kompania Piwowarska Brewery in Poznań Now Operational

System Logistics has implemented an automated high-bay warehouse for Polish brewing group Kompania Piwowarska in Poznań, offering approximately 42,000 pallet locations at a height of 40 metres.
This marks the second high-bay warehouse project delivered within the Asahi Group. The system at the Poznań site is now fully operational. The official opening took place on 30 September 2026, with the System Logistics project team attending the event on site.

How the System Works

The production area is connected to the warehouse via a manual pallet infeed station. Pallets are placed onto the conveyor system by forklift truck and then transported to the high-bay warehouse by an electric overhead monorail. There, twelve stacker cranes handle pallet storage.

When required, the pallets are transported back to the shipping area via the electric overhead monorail and the electric floor conveyor system. In the shipping area, 15 shipping docks and 45 inclined roller conveyors enable retrieval rates of up to 540 pallets per hour.

What the Beverage Industry Requires from a Warehouse

Breweries have a requirements profile that differs from that of many other industries. Loads are high, demand is seasonal, and shipping operations must be capable of handling large volumes within short timeframes during peak periods. A filling line operates continuously, regardless of how many trucks are currently waiting at the loading docks.

An automated high-bay warehouse decouples these two processes. Production can store finished goods while shipping retrieves them, allowing both sides to operate at their own pace. The system’s design capacity of up to 540 pallets per hour in the shipping area clearly reflects the operational focus of this project.

Second High-Bay Warehouse within the Asahi Group

Kompania Piwowarska has been part of the Asahi Group since 2017. Following the high-bay warehouse project for Pilsner Urquell, Poznań is the second project of this kind delivered by System Logistics within the Group.

Being awarded a repeat project of this scale is one of the strongest endorsements a system integrator can receive.
