COMPACT STORAGE (PALLETS)

Compact storage systems are storage systems that enable high storage density with a small footprint and low hall heights.

A high degree of standardisation means short project times and significant efficiency gains. Our compact storage systems are fully integrated into your material flow!

ADVANTAGES AT A GLANCE
  • Maximum storage density
  • Simple to no approval procedures
  • Reduced complexity

APPLICATION SCENARIOS

  • Buffer storage between production and shipping
  • Products with constant production and/or larger batches
  • RHB-warehouse with automatic production connection
  • Suitable for low to high throughput rates

FEATURES OF COMPACT STORAGE

  • In-house warehouse (in existing/new building)
  • Simpler approval processes and lower overall investment
  • Standardised technology
  • Temperature ranges Deep freeze to approx. −28 °C, cooling range, normal temperature
  • Throughput capacity (scalable)
  • RBG’s with shuttle, level transfer trolley, 2D/3D shuttles
  • Channel storage, optimal utilisation of existing buildings

YOUR ADVANTAGES AT A GLANCE

Minimum storage density with constant throughput

Low investment due to minimal construction work

Simpler & faster approval procedures

Independent of personnel with reduced
complexity

Flexible integration into existing production and shipping processes

Combination options with conveyor technology, AGVs, loading systems, etc.

  • Connection to ERP systems (e.g. SAP)
  • Integration with MES and other production systems
CONSTRUCTION HEIGHT Up to 7.5 m (meaning no sprinkler system is
necessary)
CAPACITY Approx. 1,000–20,000 pallet spaces (project-specific)
STORAGE DEPTH Multiple depths
LOAD CARRIERS Pallets, mesh boxes, special load carriers, etc.
TEMPERATURE −28 °C to +40 °C (depending on design)
THROUGHPUT Depends on channel vehicle technology, number of lifts and batch sizes

AGVs handle transport

  • from and to the production area
  • with warehouse optimisation
  • for dispatch preparation

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

As a rule, channels are formed in batches to avoid transfers (LIFO principle = “last in, first out”). Mixed channels are also possible for slow-moving items or items with very small batches. However, these should be defined as fixed, as transfers can have a significant impact on throughput.

Channels can be designed with different depths, allowing SKUs to be assigned according to their batch sizes. Distribution in the aisle can be based on item characteristics (e.g. heavy items at the bottom) or sales figures (ABC distribution), increasing product safety and throughput.

Yes – this can also be done retrospectively by adding additional aisles or using several/additional
shuttles per aisle. It can also be combined with other storage or transport systems such as highbay
warehouses/block storage and AGVs.

Yes, with cold-resistant technology, suitable maintenance and optimised driving profiles.
